Hulk Hogan is always on the lookout to aid in whatever cause that he feels he can lend a hand to. Whether it be a well known foundation like Make-A-Wish or the American Diabetes Association, or smaller contributions like giving to needy individuals Hulk Hogan is always ready to lend a helping hand to those less fortunate than himself.
- 1987 - During the height of his popularity Hulk Hogan appeared on Jerry Lewis' annual Labor Day telethon to encourage people to support the Muscular Dystrophy Association to help find a cure. {pic}
- July 1991 - Hulk Hogan appeared at the opening ceremonies of the 1991 International Special Olympics. Each state and country were led in by a celebrity. Hulk Hogan led the Florida group. {pic}
- 04/11/05 - Hulk Hogan sent boxer Roy Jones Jr. a letter urging him to "lay off defenseless animals" and "give up cockfighting." Jones had recently bought a major cockfighting arena in Louisiana, where staged fights are conducted in front of several hundred attendees who engage in illegal gambling. Hogan, who shared his home with a number of animals including at the time a rooster named Lily, says he understands "the thrill of being in a ring." But he draws the line at cockfighting, an activity in which two roosters are pumped full of steroids, thrown into a pit with razors strapped to their legs, and forced to fight with deadly injuries, often until death. Hogan says in his letter to Jones, "Cockfighting is bloody and violent and – unlike in our sports – the fighters often die. That's why I'm no fan of cockfights."
- 09/22/06 - Hulk Hogan initiated the "Stand Up With The Hulk" campaign to help get the Animal Fighting Prohibition Enforcement Act passed in order to held stop dog fighting and cockfighting by implementing harsher punishments to violators. {watch}
- Fall 2012 - One Mid-Michigan man’s dream is about to come true – thanks to a professional wrestler who has captivated young and old alike ever since stepping into the squared circle back in the 1980s. Jason Hafelein, 33, of Midland, will be meeting Hulk Hogan as part of his bucket list trip. Hafelein, whose body is rejecting a recent double lung transplant, has been working on meeting the 12-time world champion for several years.
- 11/??/12 - Hulk Hogan sent Paulie Fazio, a lifelong fan from Staten Island, a care package of wrestling memorabilia. The young Hulkamaniac lost all his wrestling memorabilia to the carnage of Hurricane Sandy which destroyed the northeast with hurricane force winds, battering rain and a huge ocean surge in late October. In addition to sending the memorabilia, Hulk Hogan himself called the fans and offered the 10-year-old kid some encouragement. telling Paulie to be strong for his parents.
- 09/14/13 - Melbourne, FL: Hulk Hogan appeared at the charity event "Hope For a Single Mom: Body Slammin' Breast Cancer II" to help raise money to help find a cure for breast cancer. {pic}
- 09/29/14 - Chicago, IL: Hulk Hogan made a surprise appearance on Monday Night RAW dressed in pink (breast cancer awareness colors) and made a moving speech about the need to donate and fight for a cure for the disease.
- 10/27/14 - San Antonio, TX: Hulk Hogan (still sporting breast cancer pink) gave an uplifting speech regarding the fight against breast cancer and afterwards even caled several beast cancer survivors into the ring to pose with him. {watch}
